Predictions for the Delta Lloyd Regatta – Time for revenge!

By | News | No Comments

Once in two weeks we are writing about a sailor who will be most likely one of the title candidates in our event. For the first time we pick one of the best in his class; Dorian van Rijsselberghe (RS:X). Dorian is out for revenge since his loss in the RS:X last year. He’s the man to beat on home soil. Dorian van Rijsselberghe is known because of his top performance during the Olympic Games in London 2012. In Weymouth he stood out by far and won his golden medal. During the previous edition of the Delta Lloyd Regatta he was passed by three Polish sailors and he got a disappointing fourth place. We are expecting that Dorian will get a better place in May than this performance.  Of course…

The Olympic Games is for the majority just a dream. Only a taste of the Olympic atmosphere is more than enough for a lot of sport fans. Every hour and day, the sailors are getting closer to represent their country at this epic sport event. From the 5th of August the whole world will point to Rio de Janeiro, the Copacabana and the most important thing:  the sports performances of all the athletes. For four years every sportsmen and women are preparing themselves for their dream and trying to get themselves at their best level possible. Will the Polish domination in the RS:X end soon?

By | RS-X Men | No Comments
During the Delta Lloyd Regatta 2014 the RS:X classes for both men and women a Polish sweep. Pawel Tarnowski and Zofia Klepacka ended up first in Medemblik last year. This were striking results and showed an unusual display in the world of sailing. Will this dominance be broken this year by Dorian van Rijselberghe(NED), Louis Giard (FRA) or maybe Lilian de Geus (NED)? From 24th until the 30th of May the Delta Lloyd Regatta takes place in Medemblik.  We’re wondering if the Polish sailors can defend their titles at another edition. For all sailors it’s a good opportunity to get their qualification for the ISAF Sailing World Cup in Weymouth. Up to the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro the Delta Lloyd Regatta is a good test, especially with the Olympic...

The ISAF (International Sailing Federation) appointed the venue of the Delta Lloyd Regatta, ISC Medemblik (International Sailing Center Medemblik), as official training location. Sailors can now prepare at Medemblik in advance of the RIO Olympic Games 2016.  With this decision the ISAF now has two official training locations around the world. “For the Delta Lloyd Regatta organization it’s a confirmation of the development of our location and associated facilities,” says Arjen Rahusen; chairman of the Organizing Committee. The official ISAF qualification means the venue offers the right sailing facilities and conditions to train ahead of the Sailor’s Olympic campaign. “We are extremely proud to offer the Olympic sailors of other countries a place like this.
