The organizing committee of the 2012 Delta Lloyd Regatta has cancelled the Women Match Racing event. With reference to point 3.9a of the Notice of Race:
“3.9 (a) The organizing authority may cancel the Women Match Race event if the minimum number of entries have not been received by midnight (local time), Monday February 13th 2012. Competitors will be notified of cancellation of the event by email and posting on the event website. The entry fees for cancelled events will be refunded”
Too many teams did not meet the payment obligation at Monday February 13th by midnight. In good consultation of the organizing committee and the Royal Dutch Yachting Union has been decided to cancel the entire Women Match Racing event.
We were excited to have the Women Match Racing event at the 2012 Delta Lloyd Regatta, but unfortunately we have no choice but to cancel the Women Match Racing.
All entries received a personal letter from the organizing committee. Payments which were already made will be refunded as soon as possible.
