Olympic ticket still possible for Weir

Krystal Weir (AUS) is still waiting on the decision if she can participate at the Olympic Games this summer. De Australian Laser Radial-specialist won this Saturday the Delta Lloyd Regatta in Medemblik, the fifth event of the ISAF World Cup. Weir started her last race with a comfortable advantage to Tina Mihelic from Croatia. Weir finished third in the medal race, behind Czech Marketa Audyova (first) and Mihelic. French Mathilde de Kerangat finished third overall.

Weir, world champion Laser Radial in 2004, was delighted with her win in the Delta Lloyd Regatta. ,,I had a good week here. The pressure was a bit off in the last race, so that make things easier’’, the Australian sailor said. She is waiting for the final answer from the Australian Federation if she can compete at the Olympics. ,,I hope this win will be good enough’’, she said after the race.
