Flavia Tartaglini surprises with victory RS:X women

Flavia Tartaglini (ITL) sailed to victory in the womens RS:X on Saturday at the Delta Lloyd Regatta in Medemblik. The Italian windsurfer won the medal race and climbed to the first spot in the final ranking. Tartaglini won the last race beating Maja Dziarnowska (Poland) and Australian Jessica Crisp. In the final ranking Tartaglini beat Crisp and Hayley Chan (Hong Kong). Dutch windsurfer Lilian de Geus finished seventh overall.

,,This is a wonderfull feeling. I didn’t expect anything today, I was still a bit upset about my races on Friday. I went into the last race with no expectations and that made the difference. It’s a pity ISAF decided to replace this class for the Olympics in 2016. I love to race in this class, so I have to think about my future’’, Tartaglini said after her victory.
