Medemblik is host to a world renowned sailing event and original water festivities located in this wonderful city.

Medemblik will turn into international sailing center of the world from May 22nd till May 26th. The biggest sailing event of the Netherlands, the Delta Lloyd Regatta, will take over the city. In tradition to the Delta Lloyd Regatta, Medemblik Nautiek will be organized to create a buzz in the city itself. This year, Medemblik Nautiek is all about Youth & Talent.

The entire week during the Delta Lloyd Regatta will be used to introduce sailing to all primary school in Medemblik. Children will attend sail clinics organized by the City of Medemblik and the Organizing Committee of the Delta Lloyd Regatta. These sailing clinics will be executed by the Central Institute of Sports Instructors from Heerenveen.

Just like the Delta Lloyd Regatta, Medemblik Nautiek has a spectacular closing day on Saturday May 26th. With open sail clinics for all children from the Medemblik area and live on stage children from a near high school, the Saturday during the Delta Lloyd Regatta will be used for pure talent. The stage, which is called Medemblik Sounds Young, will also host performances by a big band and the star of the Dutch television show The Voice Kids.

On the Saturday, citizens of Medemblik have the opportunity to travel with tour boat De Fortuna between the Regatta Center and East Harbour where al Medemblik Nautiek activities take place. A sailing simulator on shore and the popular Aqua Bubbles make Medemblik Nautiek 2012 refreshed.
